Solar power plants for 13 billion rubles will be built in Dagestan

Five solar power plants are to appear in the Republic of Dagestan within three years. According to the press service of the Ministry of Energy and Tariffs of the Republic of Dagestan, the projects will cost a total of about 13.4 billion rubles of private investment. The investors are Solar Systems LLC, Hevel Group of Companies, ViTok LLC.

Sites for the construction of new energy facilities are located in the cities of Yuzhno-Sukhokumsk, Kizlyar, as well as Derbent, Nogai and Karabudakhkent regions. It should be noted that the stations will be able to provide energy to about 250 thousand people, 90 new permanent jobs will be created.

“Certainly, the introduction of alternative energy is progress. The government supports the initiatives of investors in the implementation of projects to improve the reliability of the region’s power supply. Some companies have already expressed a desire to expand the geography of facilities and build several more solar power plants in Dagestan in the future. We will work on this issue,” said Rizvan Muradov, Acting Minister of Energy and Tariffs of the Republic of Dagestan.
